After losing their brave fight against relegation last season Maryhill FC are looking to bounce back immediately.

Their campaign has been boosted thanks to a generous sponsorship deal with local company Allied Vehicles.

Presentation

Club spokesperson Mark Hampson commented: “Allied Vehicles have supported us for the past five years and this new deal is a real lift for a club like ours.”

Mark continued: “We rely on the local community for support so it’s great for us to have a successful local company onboard as our sponsor.”

Continued Success

Based in neighbouring Possilpark Allied is the UK’s leading manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vehicles. Selling throughout the UK, the company supplies vehicles for individual customers under the Motability Scheme as well as marketing to the taxi industry.

Allied has enjoyed continued growth thanks to increased sales throughout the UK and recently announced further expansion with the creation of 60 new jobs which will take the number of staff well over the 300 mark. This is no mean feat considering vehicle manufacturing in Scotland appeared to be dead and buried for the past 25 years!

Pride

Allied Vehicles’ chairman Gerry Facenna presented a cheque for two thousand pounds to Glasgow Lord Provost Bob Winter who received the cheque on behalf of the club.

Mr Gerry Facenna commented: “Good teamwork has been key to our success as a company. We’re also committed to supporting the local community and we hope that the support we have given to Maryhill FC will help see them return to the top flight of junior football.”
